Cellulite happens. It’s just one of those things. You can do everything in your power to take care of your skin, and yet sometimes it will develop, regardless of what you do, what you eat, and how you take care of yourself. So what should you do if you have developed cellulite? Should you shrug your shoulders and simply accept it as fact? You could, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to. In fact, if you want to rid your body of cellulite, or at the very least reduce the appearance of cellulite, there are a handful of methods available. But with all the misinformation out there regarding miracle treatments, what really works and what is just myth? Here are the cellulite reduction treatments that actually work.
Moisturize and Hydrate
There are hydrating lotions designed specifically for cellulite. Generally speaking, you will never rid your body of cellulite. However, you can diminish the appearance of cellulite by keeping your body hydrated and your skin moisturized. There are all kinds of great topical skin care products to choose from. But if you want some personalized recommendations our staff here at The Skin Center can help you out with that.
Profound RF
While radiofrequency for the treatment of skin issues has been around for some time, the dedicated purpose of improving cellulite and reducing its appearance is relatively new. Profound RF is a patented treatment method that uses fractionated radiofrequency. The radiofrequency is applied directly to your skin. The main benefit of using a radio signal is that it doesn’t simply hit the surface level of your skin. This is how most topical cellulite reduction treatments work. The topical treatments will target the top layers of skin, which when it comes to cellulite, is only part of the problem.
Instead, as Profound RF pushes the radiofrequency through the targeted area of your skin it will move past the surface layer of skin and into the region under it. This is where most of your skin’s elastin and collagen can be found. Elastic and collagen are essential in helping your skin recover and return back to its normal buoyancy. Over time, the collagen and elastin will not replenish as quickly, which leaves you with wrinkles, lines, and cellulite.
With Profound RF, the radiofrequency will hit the elastin and collagen fields as well as the hyaluronic acid within the skin. This will stimulate these areas of the skin, causing an increase in cellular production. The boost in production will then naturally allow your skin to begin repairing itself. It doesn’t use any artificial fillers or injections to do this. Fillers will only last for so long and other injections may just tighten the skin by freezing muscle tissue. Profound RF simply propels your body into doing its job, only better.
This treatment can be used on most areas where you’re likely to see cellulite on your body. The most common target areas include the stomach, buttocks, and thighs. It can also be used on the arms and legs. Each individual is a bit different, so an in-person consultation is recommended. This will help determine the very best skincare treatment for you.
Profound RF Patient Results
Laser
A laser, like the Halo® laser resurfacing, is one treatment option for cellulite that has been around for a bit. It can be an intensive treatment. This will help generate some collagen production, although as the laser is not penetrating deeper into the sub-skin levels it will not produce the same kind of collagen count as is the case with Profound RF. In reality, the only way you’re able to produce any kind of serious collagen is to get down deeper into the skin. Topical solutions do not do this. However, in some instances, a laser might be the best option as a cellulite reduction treatments. It can depend on your body and the location of the cellulite.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are often used in face peels and other skincare services. You can even purchase mild acid skin care treatments for use at home. Usually, when you’re receiving any kind of chemical peel in a clinical setting it is higher strength than what you’re able to use at home. Much like the laser treatment method, the chemical peel will be applied topically and, essentially, allow the top layers of skin to peel off. It’s basically a skin peel for your cellulite.
This will treat the top layer of skin, but cellulite generally goes down deeper. Due to this, you might be forced to go in for treatment after treatment in order to improve the appearance of your cellulite. And in other instances, where the stronger chemical peel is used, you may have some downtime.
Again, it all depends on your body and the problem area. You may find that after consultation with a skincare professional a chemical peel for your cellulite is actually the best course of action. But that’s what makes the skincare industry so wonderful. There are almost always additional options available to you. So, if one option doesn’t work for you there are other ways to go about improving your skin.
